Research day at the Higher Institute of Arts and Crafts of Mbujimayi

Shortly after noon on Friday 6 June 2025, a research day was held on the Tuya Kumpala campus. Organised by the Garment Technology and Beauty Therapy department of the Official ISAM, the talk explored the theme: “Sewing as a lever for the empowerment of Kasai women, between tradition, resilience and development.”

In his address, the day's speaker, teaching assistant Daniel Kalombo, explained the importance and benefits of sewing as a driver of the development the region hopes for. He also invited the people of Mbujimayi and the surrounding area to enrol at ISAM and benefit from teaching that leads to professional independence.

Many people, including students and lecturers, took part with great interest in this academic gathering. The research day is also part of the ISAM Director General's drive to showcase the Institution's finest minds.
