ISAM's Director General inaugurates the new Student Union committee
On Saturday 7 February 2026, the campus of the Higher Institute of Arts and Crafts of Mbujimayi hosted a major talk by Professor Peter Ngala Ntumba Kabashadi on the theme “Balancing the demands of academic life with the realities of everyday life”. This high-profile gathering was also the occasion for the official installation of the new Student Union, which will now be led by Cécilia Lusamba Cibumbu.
In his address, ISAM's Director General urged students to reconcile academic demands with socio-economic realities. Stressing time management and setting priorities, he reminded them that success depends on a proactive attitude and strong ethics: “You need to know who you are to build your future,” he insisted.
On the sidelines of the talk, the new student president, Cécilia Lusamba, officially took office and set out a vision built on three pillars:
- Excellence: promoting research and interdisciplinary work.
- Equity: creating an inclusive environment for every talent.
- Outlook: committing to practical acts of solidarity.
Many students and guests from all walks of life took an active part in this academic event.
