The Higher Institute of Arts and Crafts of Mbujimayi opens a Master's programme in arts and crafts from the 2026-2027 academic year

The Higher Institute of Arts and Crafts (ISAM) of Mbujimayi has reached a historic milestone. Nine years after opening its doors, its Director General, Professor Peter Ngala Ntumba Kabashadi, announced the launch of a Master's programme from the new 2026-2027 academic year.

The announcement was made at the joint ceremony for the graduation and the close of the 2025-2026 academic year.

“Thanks to our partnership with other higher institutes of arts and crafts across the country, we are opening the second cycle in Fashion Management & Marketing, Fashion Styling & Design, and Fashion Education,” said Professor Peter Ngala Ntumba.

The decision fulfils a long-standing ambition of the Institute, which can now offer its students a complete academic pathway and guide them towards excellence.

“Our ambition is to make the Public ISAM of Mbujimayi a true centre of excellence in arts and crafts, fashion, design, the textile industry, hospitality and public relations,” he reaffirmed.

At the same ceremony, 118 students received their Bachelor's degrees and are ready to enter the job market. The Director General took the opportunity to urge all students to excel: “Work hard to win the excellence scholarship created by the Management Committee to reward creativity and innovation.”

Peter Ngala remains determined to raise the Institute's profile locally, nationally and internationally. “ISAM is a cradle of job creators,” he concluded.

The Institute now invites prospective students to enrol in this new programme, which holds great promise for the young people of Kasai-Oriental.
