The cradle of job creators gives birth to a new generation of professionals

On Saturday 13 September 2025, the Higher Institute of Arts and Crafts held a brilliant graduation ceremony for the 2024-2025 academic year. Held in the Club MIBA performance hall, the ceremony saw 73 students earn the prestigious Bachelor's degree, a new harvest of skills placed at the service of the province.

The event was preceded by a motorcade from Bonzola Cathedral to the Club MIBA hall, in a festive atmosphere and to the pride of families, friends and the whole academic community.

In his address, the Director General, Professor Peter Ngala, praised the graduates' sacrifices and recalled the challenges the Institute had overcome during the year. He highlighted the commitment of the Management Committee and the teaching staff to providing quality education, true to ISAM's mission of training competent, responsible professionals. Drawing on Christ's message to his disciples, “Go and proclaim the good news”, he urged the graduates: “Go and do ISAM proud by creating jobs, not by asking for them.”

The ceremony was honoured by the presence of the National Minister for Gender, Family and Children, Micheline Ombae Kalama, and of His Excellency the Acting Governor of Kasai-Oriental, Augustin Mulemena.

In her message, the Minister encouraged the graduates, particularly the women, to champion the values of positive masculinity and to fight gender-based violence. She also presented several gifts to the Management Committee and the new graduates.

The Acting Governor congratulated the new graduates on their efforts and announced that ISAM/Mbuji-Mayi would be granted a plot of land, in response to the Institute's infrastructure needs.

With this class of 73 graduates, ISAM/Mbuji-Mayi confirms its role as a “cradle of job creators”, sending competent, innovative and committed professionals into the job market, ready to contribute actively to the socio-economic development of Kasai-Oriental.
